The heart of the 690 SMC is a 654cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine, delivering a staggering 66 horsepower while weighing in at just 305.4 pounds. This impressive power-to-weight ratio, combined with the bike’s razor-sharp Supermoto technology, makes it a force to be reckoned with on tight roads.
As the undisputed king of single-cylinder engines, KTM has once again raised the bar with the 690 SMC. Its closest competitor, the Husqvarna SM610E, may have a similar design and 54 horsepower, but it simply can’t match the KTM’s sheer performance.
In the best Supermoto tradition, the 690 SMC is a worthy successor to the winning 660 SMC, and its arrival in the US market at the end of March or beginning of April this year is eagerly anticipated by fans and competitors alike.
