With a potent 1338cc vee-twin engine, the FLTC unleashes a distinctive song that’s unmistakably American. This liquid-cooled powerplant is a departure from the multi-cylinder engines and overhead camshafts found in other high-end tourers. Instead, Harley-Davidson’s engineers have crafted an engine with its own unique character, one that rewards riders who appreciate the nuances of a well-tuned vee-twin.
The Tour Glide Classic’s running gear is equally unconventional, featuring Gates Poly Chain belt drive and whitewall tires that evoke a bygone era. The heel-and-toe shifter and brake pedal are distinctive touches that set this bike apart from its competitors. Despite initial reservations about the belt drive system, our testing has shown it to be lighter, cleaner, and easier to maintain than traditional chain drives.
