The Ducati 175TS Turismo Speciale is a testament to Italian engineering prowess, boasting a single overhead cam, bevel-driven engine that would become a hallmark of Ducati’s performance heritage.
Launched in 1958 as the first production machine to bear this innovative powerplant, the 175TS was available in various guises, including the S Sport and Turismo. But it was the Sport variant that stole the show, capable of reaching an astonishing 84mph while returning almost 100mpg.
This diminutive yet formidable machine showcased a whip-free chassis and massive aluminium brake hubs, combining to deliver exceptional handling and braking prowess in its class.
The result was a riding experience that left competitors in its dust, with British importers Kings of Manchester even offering a tuned version, the Silverstone Super, which pushed top speed to an impressive 95mph.
