The BMW S 1000RR has been reimagined for 2015, boasting a substantial overhaul that cements its position as the leading sports bike in terms of sales.
With a 6bhp boost, the S 1000RR now produces 199bhp, while a 4kg weight loss program brings the curb weight down to 204kg with a full tank of fuel.
The engine has been re-engineered with a new cylinder head, intake valves, and intake camshaft, as well as a revised airbox, all contributing to the increased power and torque.
But it’s not just about numbers – the S 1000RR’s riding experience has been refined with a new chassis and the option of semi-active suspension, developed from the BMW HP4.
The result is a bike that is both more powerful and more agile, with maximum torque available between 9500rpm and 12,000rpm, and a rev limit of 14,200rpm.
