The Moto Guzzi Quota 1100ES is a refreshingly honest trail bike, unapologetically simple and capable. Built on a legacy of longitudinal crankshafts and clangy gearboxes, this bike defies mainstream conventions. Its massive bars and long-legged stance may take some getting used to, but once you adapt, the riding experience becomes deceptively simple.
The Quota’s 115cc boost over its predecessor is courtesy of a 92mm x 80mm bore and stroke, with Marelli fuel injection still driving a modified California engine. Guzzi claims 69ps of power at 6400rpm and 8.7kgf-m of torque at 3800rpm, but it’s the latter that truly defines this bike’s character – it’s a torque machine that pulls effortlessly from 60km/h in top gear.
The Quota 1100ES is not a bike for the faint of heart, but for those willing to adapt, it offers a uniquely engaging ride experience.
